Moreover, the Pacuare flows right between Puerto Viejo, San Jose and the La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano areas, so it's the perfect activity for travelling between those two areas. Instead of a day of travel, you can enjoy a day of discovery and adventure, possibly your best day in Costa Rica, and end up where you want to go. What could be better!? All of the luggage you don't bring on the river will be kept safely, and will be waiting at the take out facility.

Our one day trip is about 9-12 hours total (depending on pick up and drop off locations), approximately 4 hours on the river.

We offer this adventure in two flavors: budget and deluxe. Both options include the exact same world-class rafting,

BUDGET: This includes a riverside lunch (no breakfast) and transportation from Siquirres or Turrialba only. You can also start and/or end from your choice of destinations including San Jose, La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano or Puerto Viejo/Cahuita/Manzanillo and points in between by using public or private transportation. This is your best choice if you have a rental car or a private driver or if you want to save a few bucks by taking public transportation. The price below is for this option.

DELUXE: Includes buffet breakfast, riverside lunch and door-to door transportation from/to San Jose, the La Fortuna/Arenal area or the Souther Caribbean area (Puerto Viejo, Cahuita, Manzanillo, etc, and all places in between). We can pick you up in one area, take you to the river, and then drop you off afterwards at you next destination. So instead of having a wasted day of travel, you can have maybe your best day in Costa Rica and end up where you are going anyway. This is the efficient way to plan your vacation. NOTE FOR BUDGET OPTION: If you are departing from the Southern Caribbean on your own, you must be on the first public bus towards San Jose or in your own car driving out of town at 7:00am from Manzanillo, 7:30am from Puerto Viejo, and 8:00am from Cahuita so that you will arrive at the Caribbean Dish Restaurant in Siquirres by 9:30 am. Click here for directions. If you are departing from San Jose you must be on the bus to Turrialba at 7am. You will be met at the Turrialba bus terminal at about 9:00 am. You will exit the river near Siquirres between 3:00 and 4:00 pm. If you are going on to San Jose or Puerto Viejo, you will be taken to the bus terminal in Siquirres and arrive in San Jose about 6:00 pm at Cahuita or Puerto Viejo at about 7:00 pm or 7:30pm. Or you will be taken by private shuttle to Turrialba and arrive about 6:00 pm.
